THE LOCAL AREA
A microcosm of London's shifting ethnic patterns, the area around Brick Lane in East London was once associated with poor slums and the scene of the crime for the Jack the Ripper murders. Whilst the notorious pub Ten Bells still stands, the area itself is now extremely popular with London’s edgy and artistic crowd, featuring galleries, restaurants, markets and festivals throughout the year.
The Old Truman Brewery at 91 Brick Lane houses a vibrant market where up-and-coming designers set up shop every Sunday selling a unique variety of clothes, handbags and jewellery. There are also vintage clothing stores and chic boutiques dotted around the area.
As a hub of London's Bangladeshi community, Brick Lane has always been famed for its many authentic curry restaurants. It now also has a reputation for its warehouse art exhibitions and trendy clubs and bars. So, before your East London experience is complete, be sure to head to the Vibe Bars beer garden or 93 Feet East (150 Brick Lane) which has become an East End institution well known for its eclectic mix of live music and intimate atmosphere.
London's oldest market, Spitalfields is now a seven-days-a-week destination. Spitalfields markets, once a Sunday-only mainstay, are open every day. Resplendent under a Fosters & Partners-designed glass canopy, Spitalfields Traders Market and shops offer cutting edge fashion and interiors, original artworks and as well as food.
Spitalfields market is surrounded by independent shops, cafes, bars and awarding winning restaurants like Canteen, Galvin La Chapell and Giraffe.
COLUMBIA STREET FLOWER MARKET
For an authentic East London experience, nothing comes close to Columbia Road market on a Sunday morning. Jam packed with the best blooms in the capital, it’s a lively and pretty noisy affair (and not for those who prefer peace and quiet on a Sunday), with salt-of-the-earth Eastender types, shouting at the top of their lungs and all trying to outdo one another's patter.
During the rest of the week you can dine and shop at the rest of the quaint little restaurants and boutiques.
THIS IS THE BEST PLACE TO BE IF YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE LONDON AT ITS BEST!!!

Great Room, So close to tube and transport links
This place is really comfortable, everything's clean, it's a nice house near the centre of London. I would highly recommend it!
Excellent, multicultural neighborhood, lots of great food in the area. Noisy apartment above a very active alleyway. Comfortable bed. Stairs are very narrow. Not the cleanest apartment. I saw a mouse under the kitchen sink.
Second floor bathroom is spacious and the tub is huge. The first floor kitchen is also spacious. Both kitchens have clothes washers. The first floor washer is much nicer and easier to use.
Overall, the apartment was fine and a decent value. And the wifi was great.
all good, nice bathroom for london standard, good kitchen and clean room
Clean and comfortable room. Excellent host.
It was a nice stay. The next underground and bus station is very near by which is highly convenient.
We found the accommodation to be more than adequate for out stay in London. kitchen was very well equipped. Would stay again
Very comfortable and peaceful room, all needs catered for, will call again.
Close to centre and to the nearest tube station (Stepney Green)
The bedroom had not been cleaned when we arrived around 3:30pm (Check in is supposed to be after 3pm) but was done during the afternoon.
The room is spacious and provides plenty of storage. The proximity of a big axis brings a lot of shops nearby but also a bit of noise at night (Reasonable level on a week day but quite noisy on Friday night.)
Not very good
